The 1964 ES-345 TDC Maestro is built to the original specifications of a genuine 1964 ES-345. The historically accurate truss road features many aspects to achieve superior adjust-ability. With a high quality teflon coating, large diameter rod, an original spec brass anchor, and a large barbed washer to prevent unwanted washer movement, getting perfect neck relief has never been easier. One of the key features of the original 345 is the unique Varitone circuit, which this reissue replicates perfectly. A classic chickenhead knob sits atop a gold switch plate, with the Varitone notch filter hiding below. With a true bypass position and 5 individual selectable frequency ranges, you can dial in pre-set frequency "scoops" with the flick of a switch without losing tone. Add to this the traditional 45 degree bevels on all of the plastics, classic ES body contours and original bracing, and you have yourself a modern classic.
When a company makes a pickup using the same technique as the original Gibson PAF pickups, you know they're going to sound incredible. Well that's exactly what the MHS humbuckers fitted to the ES-345 TDC Maestro are. Utilizing a scatter wound winding process with 42 AWG enamel wire, Gibson have really mastered the historically accurate "patent applied for" era tonality.
Made from a triple ply of hand-selected timber, the Maple/Poplar/Maple top, back and sides resonate throughout for a truly spectacular sound. Bound with traditional triple ply Tan/Black/Tan on the top, and single ply tan on the back, it's durable, comfortable, and absolutely gorgeous. Finished in a rich Sixties Cherry stain and protected by a hi-gloss 90 sheen lacquer, this is one guitar you won't be able to stop looking at.
The Maestro Vibrola, also known as the Lyre Vibrola or the Deluxe Gibson Vibrato, is an excellent piece of hardware. Rebuilt from the original vintage factory blueprint, the Maestro fitted to the ES-345 TDC VOS is historically accurate and matches perfectly to those that came as an option on ES-335s from 1964.
When you need a way to protect your ES-345 TDC Maestro VOS, Gibson truly deliver. A durable and rigid, specially molded black hard shell surrounds an elegant yellow protective interior to keep your 345 as safe as can be. The Gibson Memphis Certificate of Authenticity can also be found inside this case.
