Thermo Aging

Ibanez has recently become the latest company to introduce thermo-aging technology to their guitar lines. The thermo-aging process is done by drying the tonewood at a high temperature in a low oxygen environment, a process called 'baking' or 'torrefaction'. This method helps the wood become lighter, and provides a deeper sound and more resonance.

Choice of Tonewoods

The Artwood Dreadnought features a solid sitka spruce top, that is a common choice for guitar sound boards, due to its ability to deliver a broad dynamic range and a crisp articulation. Sitka spruce is ideal for any type of playing, including aggressive strumming and fingerpicking. As well as a spruce top, this stunning guitar also features an Indian rosewood body, which delivers the rich warm tone that rosewood is known for. Both tonewoods provide you with a versatile guitar that sits well in any mix.
