The Ibanez Iron Label Series are a meticulously designed series of 6, 7 and 8 string electric guitars, purposely built for modern metal musicians. The guitars feature the highest quality hardware and electronics, including EMG or DiMarzio pickups, Ibanez’s own nitro wizard neck, heavy duty hardware and high-end tonewoods. By stripping back the design to the basics and working from the ground up, Ibanez has built an adept line of heavy metal guitars that cater to your every need and provide the solid performance required by modern metal players.
A mahogany body gives the FRIX7FEAH a warm and resonant tonality. The 3pc maple/purpleheart neck gives great strength for tuning stability along with a bright and resonant response. The neck is mounted with an ebony fingerboard which is dense and helps with the guitar's low-end articulation.
The FRIX7FEAH features a neck with Ibanez's classic Nitro Wizard profile, designed to be ultra-thin for the fastest and most technically demanding of playing styles. The neck is mounted to the body with an all-access neck joint which, when combined with the body's deep lower horn, helps give excellent top-fret access for high-range soloing.
The fingerboard features a modern flat 400mm radius fingerboard for a balanced feel across all 7-strings and an easier soloing feel. The 24 frets are jumbo which gives enhanced string control when bending strings and applying vibrato; perfect for active riffing and lead guitar playing.
The EMG 707 active humbuckers provide battery-powered noise-free operation with great power and articulation. They are designed to create balance across all 7-strings, preventing the low 7th string from becoming muddy under high-gain. This gives you clarity in complex chord voicings and a fast-response with quick pick-attack for detailed riffing. These pickups complement the mahogany body's warmth and the ebony fingerboard's low-end articulation, giving you the ideal tonal platform for modern metal performance.
A 3-way switch gives you access to individual and combined pickup tones, while a kill switch lets you manually access audio-stuttering effects adding another creative edge to your music.
A Gibraltar Standard II fixed bridge provides optimum string vibration transfer to the body, along with individual string-adjustments for action and intonation. The bridge has a smooth playing surface for the right hand and helps create a solid platform for low-range tunings.
The FRIX7FEAH features Gotoh MG-T locking machine heads that provide quick string changes and give enhanced tuning stability; an important feature for long and active performances in extended tunings.
These hardware appointments complement the guitar's strong 3pc neck to create a thoroughly stable instrument that is built to withstand the rigours of gigging.
Over the past 30 years, Ibanez Guitars has been at the forefront of developing the right tools for electric guitar players pushing the boundaries of music. For decades, Ibanez designers and luthiers have been the embodiment of this ideology, pushing their skills to the edge of imagination and consistently creating some of the most versatile and unique instruments. Although Ibanez has existed since 1908, it wasn't until the late '80s that it began to gain a market-leading identity when artists such as Steve Vai and Frank Zappa began playing Ibanez guitars. Now with a huge artist clientele across the globe, Ibanez is a leading manufacturer of electric guitars and basses and a first choice for many dedicated musicians.
