Steve Vai

Steve Vai is an American guitarist, composer, singer, songwriter primarily known his collaboration with Frank Zappa. A three time Grammy award winner and fifteen-time nominee, Vai started his impressive career at a young age and is considered as a 'highly individualistic player.' Vai has worked with Ibanez for many years since the launch of the JEM guitar, which he co-designed.

Unique Body

This stunning new model from the Steve Vai range features a mahogany body accompanied by a rosewood top, offering a high-quality tonewood with an eye-catching grain. A signature 'monkey grip' is incorporated into the guitar's design and adds to its unique appearance.

Neck Profile

As well as a comfortable body shape, the Ibanez Steve Vai JEM also features a Premium Wizard 5 piece Maple/Walnut neck, along with KTS TITANIUM rods that provide comfort and speed. A rosewood fingerboard accompanies this neck profile, along with a stunning 'tree of life' inlay. Super-smooth fret edges are produced by a hand-crimping technique, usually only found on much more expensive instruments

Dark Matter 2 Pickups

The JEM77WDP Electric Guitar is armed with a trio of DiMarzio Dark Matter 2 pickups on each position, and offers a full range of tones, which can be easily controlled with the master volume and tone controls, and the 5-way pickup switch. This powerful pickups also feature a steam-punk inspired cog design, that add to the guitar's overall appearance.

Edge-Zero II Tremolo

Players can achieve pitch bending effects with the Edge-Zero II tremolo bridge that features a lower profile, designed for playing comfort, along with a stud lock function for stable tuning.
