The Ibanez RG series is the most recognisable and distinctive range from Ibanez designed to provide powerful rock tones and an effortless playing experience. The Iron Label variety takes this to the next level and provides extra features designed specifically for metal playing.
The RGIM7MH has a varied scale length across all 7 strings and is designed to provide optimum string tension for the more extreme string tunings used in metal. This helps each string feel and sound more balanced, along with creating a more resonant tone. The multi-scale design follows the ergonomics of the left hand and arm, ensuring a comfortable playing experience as your hand moves up and down the neck.
The RGIM7MH's multi-scale means that the pickups have to be mounted at an angle so need to be wider than the usual 7-string designs. This guitar includes EMG808 and EMG809 pickups to solve this problem; they provide a highly responsive and articulate tone which is ideal for down-tuning.
The super-slim, ultra-comfortable 5-piece maple/bubinga nitro wizard neck gives excellent stability and access to all 7 strings. A spacious, rosewood fingerboard adds to note articulation and provides a comfortable playing surface for the left hand.
The RGIM7MH features Ibanez's Mono Rail bridge which separates each string to ensure that they vibrate independently from one another. This ensures optimum resonance and string separation which is ideal for low-tuned riffs. With the combination of the Mono Rail bridge and EMG pickups, you can be sure your low-tuned riffs will retain clarity.
Over the past 30 years, Ibanez Guitars have always been at the forefront of developing the right tools for electric guitar players pushing the boundaries of music. For decades, Ibanez designers and luthiers have been the embodiment of this ideology, pushing their skills to the edge of imagination, consistently creating some of the most versatile and unique instruments ever. Although Ibanez guitars have been made since 1908, it wasn't until the late 1980s that they began to form an identity for themselves when artists such as Steve Vai and Frank Zappa began using their instruments. Now with a huge artist clientele across the globe, Ibanez are a leading manufacturer of electric guitars and basses and a first choice for many dedicated musicians.
