The SR1705B features a poplar burl/walnut top with a mahogany body to give it its unique look. This stunning poplar burl/walnut top provides a clear attack as well as stunning looks, while the mahogany body delivers a warm, fat low-end. As well as visual aesthetics, the SR1705B offers comfortable contours and a cutaway design, allowing full access to the whole fingerboard.
As well as a comfortable body shape, the SR1705B Premium Bass Guitar features an atlas 5-piece panga panga and purpleheart neck, offering superb tonal clarity and superior note attack. This stunning model features a panga panga fingerboard that provides a great tone and smooth feel. This fingerboard is also decorated with abalone oval inlays for added elegance. Each fret also features premium fret edge treatment for a smooth and comfortable play.
A set of single-coil Big Single pickups deliver a full-bodied, powerfully aggressive tone, whilst retaining clarity for the ultimate single-coil tone. In order to produce incredibly huge, loud sounds, the Big Single pickups are designed with the biggest coils they could fit within the soapbar cover, resulting in the perfect jazz bass-on-steroids tone.
One of the most unique features of this 5-string bass guitar is the 3-band EQ, featuring an EQ bypass switch to shape and craft the tone of your guitar with maximum control. With controls over treble, mid, and bass, the 3-band EQ lets you to mould every nuance of your sound to find the perfect tone for your playing. The bypass switch flicks between the original and affected tone, letting you experiment and create a range of tonal possibilities.
In addition to 3-band EQ, the SR also features a mid-frequency select switch, letting you instantly switch between 250Hz, 450Hz, and 700Hz, the heart of the mid zone, to create a more dynamic and ideal tone when needed.
The Premium Bass features a stylish mono-rail V bridge, adding to the beautiful aesthetic of the bass while improving string stability and sustain. This innovative design offers a wide intonation adjustment range, and each independent saddle provides a maximum string vibration transfer without any interference.
Unlike other basses from Ibanez, the SR1400 Bass features a black Tusq nut from Graph Tech. Tusq is impregnated with PTFE, a slippery substance that reduces the binding grip the nut has on the strings, transferring the strings vibrations efficiently to the guitar. Players can achieve a balanced tone with increased harmonics, along with clear highs and open lows.
