The Ibanez SRH500 is part of the bass workshop series, bringing concept ideas to reality for a unique instrument with state-of-the-art innovations. Crafted with a spruce top and mahogany back and sides for a 55mm thick construction, the SRH500 produces a rich, resonant tone and offers a lightweight bass that can be played all night long. In addition, the specially designed forearm contour on the body top offers playing comfort and adds an elegant accent to its appearance.
The eye-catching ash body is mounted with a thin 5-piece jatoba/bubinga neck, which offers comfort and stability, that will not not warp or twist over time. Its slim profile is thinner than a traditional bass neck and allows for fast styles. Like many basses from Ibanez, this workshop model features a bound rosewood fingerboard, and provides a warm, soft tone with a natural feel. This classic fingerboard is also decorated with off-set white dot inlays for added elegance, and fret location.
As well as providing eye-catching looks and comfortable playability, the Ibanez SRH500 is equipped with a custom bridge and AeroSilk Piezo system which works with the D'Addario ECB81 flat wound strings to provide the classic 'upright double bass' character. Achieving the perfect sound is easy with wooden control knobs for volume and bass.
Over the past 30 years, Ibanez have always been at the forefront of developing the right tools for players pushing the boundaries of music. For decades, Ibanez designers and luthiers have been the embodiment of this ideology, pushing their skills to the edge of imagination, consistently creating some of the most versatile and unique instruments ever. Ibanez basses have been used on some of modern rock's most poignant albums of recent years. The preferred instruments of many awe inspiring bass players, amongst them Fieldy from Korn, Paul Gray from Slipknot and Peter Iwers of In Flames, Ibanez Basses continue to be the first stop for learners and professionals alike, no matter what musical genre they exist in.
