The Laney R500H 500W Bass Amp Head delivers incredible power and thump with its solid-state power section. Its 500 watts of solid-state ensures the amp will adapt to most stage settings, allowing players to deliver the full dynamic range of their playing without struggling to keep up with the band. As part of the Richter line of amplification, the R500 head is designed to accommodate a range of playing styles, while its compact construction and lightweight design (only 4.1kg) make it the perfect companion for any bassist.
Its incredible tonal capabilities are adjusted via the selection of bass-friendly controls, which combine flexible tone-shaping with a simple, intuitive interface. A standard volume and gain control offer quick and easy tonal adjustments, while the bass and treble knobs provide simple but powerful sonic tweaks. Set in between the treble and bass controls is a 10-band graphic EQ, offering a very wide range of controllable frequencies for the ultimate tone tweaking. The 10-band EQ can also be switched in remotely by connecting Laney’s FS1 or FS1-mini footswitch (sold separately) to give you a foot-switchable alternate sound, whether that be a solo boost or a mid-scoop for heavier moments. A unique enhance control offers instant increase in low-end definition, while the selectable on-board compressor ensures that your tone remains crisp and clean.
The Laney Bass Amp offers a range of bass player-friendly connections to enhance your playing experience. Its normal and high jack inputs allow players to connect a range of basses, and the Aux input lets you play along to your favourite tunes and backing tracks via an audio device. The balanced XLR D.I. ensures players can send their signal directly to mixers and recording devices, making it perfect for live performances on stage and in the studio. The addition of an FX loop allows players to connect their favourite stompboxes, while the speakon connector sends the power to the external cab of choice.
