At the neck, there is a Sustainiac Driver Single Coil which features a 3-way mode selector. The options include Normal which sustains the fundamental, Mix which sustains the fundamental and the overtone, and Harmonic which sustains the overtone. The Satchur8 pickup at the bridge, produces an open, lively and responsive tone that is great for creating Satriani's signature sound. It provides a punchy sound with expressive attack as well as a warm, singing lead tone.

Alder Body

Alder offers an incredibly balanced tone and the perfect dynamic range to suit most musical styles. The alder body is ideal for a variety of playing styles as its excellent sustain and resonance ensures each note is heard. Its bright, sizzling highs, rounded lows, and beefy midrange allow you to achieve the perfect sound for most situations.

Maple/Bubinga Neck & Rosewood Fingerboard

This Joe Satriani Signature Guitar features a 3-piece maple and bubinga neck, offering superb tonal clarity and superior note attack. The bubinga stripe provides a unique aesthetic, as well as increased stability and sustain. The sturdy and durable neck is paired with a rosewood fingerboard to provide a warm, soft tone with a natural feel. This classic fingerboard is also decorated with Mother of Pearl inlays for added elegance. Each fret also features Premium fret edge treatment for smooth and comfortable play.

About Joe Satriani

Joe Satriani is considered on of the most talented and respected rock guitarists of recent times, with his solo instrumental albums as well as his work with Mick Jagger, Deep Purple and Chickenfoot. Un his early music career, Satriani worked as a guitar teacher and his past students include Kirk Hammett, David Bryson, Kevin Cadogan and Larry LaLonde. Satriani's playing technique is regarded as highly technical, with his incredibly quick shredding, extreme whammy bar use and two-handed tapping. Joe Satriani began working with Ibanez way back in 1987, and has since been refining and updating his many models to continue to please guitar players like himself.
