The Laney Nexus SLS packages all the features from the SL head in an ultra-compact and portable format. It is designed with both tube and solid-state technology to deliver an incredibly powerful hybrid amp, offering the best of both worlds for players to enjoy. The head provides the powerful capabilities of cutting-edge class-D technology alongside the natural warmth, compression, and dynamic range of a high-voltage ECC83 tube. With this combination, players can enjoy incredible power and crisp tube tones, with 500 watts to deliver an authoritative sound on stage and in the rehearsal room.
The Nexus SLS delivers an incredible range of controls to provide excellent tone shaping. The bottom row of controls can be used to dial-in the perfect sound for any situation, with a tilt control offering an instant EQ see-saw for further tweaks, while a touch compression control adjusts the output response from touch-sensitive sound, to a tight and fast response. The top row of controls provide access to bass-friendly digital FX, giving you reverb, chorus and octaves/fifths to expand your playing experience. The amp also features a studio spec D.I. with a range of single path options, alongside multiple ohm speaker output switching with load-protection ensuring safe and professional use.
The addition of a USB port located to the back of the Nexus Bass Amp allows seamless connectivity to any Mac, PC or iPad. Once connected, you can use the amp as an audio interface within your digital audio workstation to recorded hi-fidelity audio direct from the amplifier whether on the go or in the studio. The tuner out also doubles as a raw signal output, enabling the capture of the clean unprocessed signal which is ideal for studio recording or re-amping. The DI out features pre/post options while the phones and AUX allow external input and outputs to be used. The Nexus is fully featured in terms of connectivity and should ensure easy professional use.
The Laney Amp Head is built to survive life on the road, featuring a heavy-duty steel construction to protect the internal components from any damage when going from gig-to-gig. The class-D amplification allows this head to be incredibly light-weight for the amount of power it can deliver. Laney provides a TSI Tube Status Indicator, so you always know the status of your preamp valve condition and can use the technology with absolute confidence. Multiple impedance allows different loudspeaker connection and the unit also allows for world-wide use with the simple change of a power cord.
