Key Features
The 400 series is one of Taylor's bestselling range of guitars around the globe. Whilst not every player will have experienced the performance of Ovangkol, this African tone wood continues to astound Taylor buyers as they discover its rich and responsive sound. Ovangkol is remarkably similar to Rosewood.
Product Ref: 36872
The 416ce features Taylor's unique Grand Symphony body with cutaway. Introduced in 2006 by Bob Taylor, the Grand Symphony body delivers rich, piano-like bass, a strong midrange and meaty treble frequencies. When flat picked or strummed the guitar delivers an immense volume and projection of sound.
Exceptional Pickup System
Taylor's industry leading Expression System pickup ensures that this guitar is ready for the studio or the stage. Taylor pickup systems have been setting the standard that other brands aspire to achieve for many years. The system uses magnetic sensors mounted on the body and under the fingerboard, meaning that when you plug in, you hear an accurate, warm representation of your guitar. The pickup features an on board preamp with a custom voiced EQ and dials to control the treble, bass and master volume of the guitar, and a phase switch for feedback control.
Unique Bracing Pattern
A significant factor behind the incredible sound of the 416ce is the forward shifted bracing pattern with a relief rout. The 'x' in the bracing pattern is moved closer to the sound hole, enabling more of the guitar top to vibrate, delivering maximum tonal quality and projection.
The Perfect Guitar Neck
For ultimate playability and peace of mind, all 400 series guitars feature Taylor's unique NT neck design. The NT neck was designed to give players a straighter, more stable guitar neck, resistant to common problems such as changes in humidity. The neck sits in a custom fit pocket along with laser-cut spacers. There's a perfect neck angle for each Taylor guitar, and these precision spacers create it. Best of all, because there is no glue used in the NT neck design, maintenance and adjustments can be made by trained technicians in a matter of minutes.
