As the high-end model of the Revstar series, the RSP20CR features premium parts and materials combined with the ingenuity and high quality craftsmanship of Japan’s detail-oriented engineering ethic. As part of their manufacturing, the Revstar is built to reflect the true style and design of the café racer, ensuring they embody the function, character, and style that the Revstar series strive for.

VH7+ Vintage Output Humbuckers

The Revstar RSP20CR features a set of vintage output VH7+ humbuckers, designed with alnico magnets to produce incredible blue vibes with plenty of clarity and depth. Switching the guitar into the neck pickup will deliver beautiful Jazz-style tones, offering complex chords filled with meaty harmonics to deliver a full, rich sound. The bridge pickup will produce incredible blues-like tones, featuring plenty of bite and punchy rhythm for a defined sound. The pickups are controlled via a master volume and tone, letting you dial in the perfect sound for your playing style.

Tone Control’s Push/Pull Dry Switch

The guitar’s tone control features a special push/pull dry switch specially designed for the Revstar series, allowing you to create incredibly bright, clear tones with lots of body, no hum, and plenty of power. While the tone control simply cuts high frequencies, activating the dry switch will provide a cleaner tone, re-shaping the EQ curve to remove low end and add extra cut and clarity. This circuit also preserves the humbuckers noiseless operation, letting you dial in the perfect sound without diminishing output level or clarity.

Inspired by Street Racing Motorbikes

The Yamaha Revstar has been designed with a cool, raw look, drawing inspiration from London and Tokyo’s vintage street-racing motorbikes. The Revstar model is the first brand new Yamaha guitar range to launch in 20+ years and adheres to Yamaha's 50+ year guitar manufacturing legacy.

Nothing from the original Revstar designs made the final cut, every element has been thoroughly scrutinised, reviewed and redesigned in the search for perfection. The Revstar range has been designed in conjunction with a leading design agency and a global team of designers, to research and develop every element of the guitar, searching for the perfect balance of uniqueness and familiarity in every curve, component and colour.
