Robert Smith's Signature Guitar features a chambered body constructed from high-quality mahogany, delivering incredibly powerful tones and a comfortable light weight. The mahogany wood offers a naturally rich, warm tone, with a good balance of grind and bite to create tights lows and appealing highs. The chambered design of the body increases the overall resonance, delivering an enhanced sustain and projection for an excellent amount of depth. The body has also been designed with a flat top and raised centre, providing players with a smooth surface and a comfortable playing experience.
The 3-piece maple neck and rosewood fingerboard feature a thin "C" profile, delivering a fast performance with an incredibly comfortable play. The maple wood provides the guitar with bright characteristics, creating a snappy attack in the midrange and a sizzling high end. When the strings are played hard, the wood adds more punch to the tone, and light or medium picking delivers extra clarity. Adding a rosewood fingerboard helps create a warmer and softer tone, with a sparkling high end and a thick low end. Schecter locking tuners and a Graph Tech tusq nut are also included to improve string stability and enhance resonance and sustain.
The set of Seymour Duncan ’59 humbuckers feature alnico 5 bar magnets with vintage style coils, providing the UltraCure Guitar with old school tonal characteristics and a big PAF sound. Featuring the bridge and neck models of the ‘59’s, the Schecter is transformed into an incredibly versatile guitar capable of play a wide range of music. While the neck pickup has been designed to offer warm tone, with scooped mids and a bright top end, the bridge pickup delivers a full sound with an articulate treble attack, Scooped mids, and a full bottom end. Both pickups each feature independent volume controls with push-pull functions, providing players with even more tonal variety.
With a Bigsby flat top B50 bridge, the Robert Smith UltraCure can create incredible pitch shifting effects easily, allowing players to deliver variety of effects to enhance their performance. With a classic design, the Bigsby bridge not only bends notes and chords, but also adds a visual aspect to the guitar. The bridge also features a roller tune-o-matic to keep the strings secure, offering excellent string stability with a tight spec tolerance.
