Sam Bettley’s Stiletto Bass is equipped with a single Seymour Duncan MM pickup, designed with large ceramic magnets and a custom coil wind to deliver excessive punch and tonal aggression. Its tight articulation and solid low end make it ideal for heavy rock and thumb-fink players, who will also love the pickups immediate attack, clarity, and raw power. Faithfully reproducing the iconic punchy tones of the 90s, the MM pickup is also equipped with an active 2-band EQ for the perfect level of control over your tone. Adjust the treble and bass frequencies to deliver a wide range of tones, from low noise, low distortion, and high headroom, all the way to crystal clear highs and a full frequency bass response.
Sam's Signature Stiletto Bass features a lightweight swamp ash body, delivering incredible resonance and a dynamic sonic range perfect for delivering atmospheric soundscapes. The ash wood’s airy tone features a strong ‘twang’ character, with a slightly scooped midrange to help boost its natural brightness for a sweeter sound. Its pleasing high-end is slightly pronounced for a quick attack, while its firm low-end and high levels of sustain provide extra layers of sonic detail. The bass is then finished in black, with the grain finished in red to create a truly eye-catching design.
The maple wood provides the guitar with a bright characteristic, creating a snappy attack in the midrange and a sizzling high end. When the strings are played hard, the wood adds extra layers of punch to the tone, while light to medium picking offers more clarity. The addition of an ebony fingerboard enhances the guitar with a beautifully bright, responsive attack, with its natural feel delivering a smooth performance and plenty of overtones.
