Despite the V6 Icon's accessible price, the guitar is constructed with a quality alder body and maple neck with a rosewood fingerboard. This tonewood combination lends the V6 Icon a classic bright tonality with excellent resonance and sustain - perfect for blues, rock, country, funk, soul, and more. The iconic double cutaway design gives easy access to the top frets, so you'll have no problem reaching the top notes during solos, while the smooth body contours give a comfortable playing feel whether stood up or sat down.
The distressed, low-gloss finish gives the V6 Icon a worn-in look, just like a guitar that's survived a lifetime of gigging, touring, recording and rehearsing - perfect for instantly creating the organic look of a vintage instrument without having to actually damage your brand-new guitar.
Compared with the V6 Icon's vintage looks and tone, the neck features a modern 12'' fingerboard radius which provides excellent balance across the strings, along with the ability to set up a low string action with no risk of the strings "choking" when you play string bends. The slim neck sits easily in the left hand, while the low-profile neck joint and double cutaway assists with top-fret access for high range solos.
Like all Vintage guitars, the V6 Icon features Trev Wilkinson-designed hardware, built on years of industry experience. The Wilkinson WVC vibrato bridge features a traditional 6-saddle design, made with bent-steel saddles and 4 screw pivots for full adjustability and a smooth action. The bridge has an aged-nickel finish, complementing the guitar's pre-worn looks. The bridge is complemented with Wilkinson WJ55 patented E-Z-Lok tuners, providing a simple locking action for quick and stable tuning. A graphite nut assists with tuning by providing a friction-free platform for the strings to pass over when bending strings and using the whammy bar.
The V6 Icon is loaded a HSS configuration of Wilkinson pickups for the ultimate in tonal versatility. The single coil neck and middle pickups provide the delicate nuance of single coils for traditional tones, while the bridge-position humbucker provides a raucous tone for rock and blues. The 5-way pickup selector gives you access to all the traditional double-cutaway guitar tones, including the classic 'in-between' combined-coil sounds for funk and blues. These pickups make the most of the tonal potential from the V6 Icon's open-sounding and resonant alder body, with a dynamic tone that brings out all the nuances of your playing and can traverse the genres.
