It's not often you find a pickup that offers all the power, clarity, and versatility you crave. And, in an era where musicians demand more out of their guitar sound, it can prove to be restrictive to your creativity. The VH3 pickups are an exception to this. Gigantic humbucker sound, with exceptional note definition and articulation – these pickups pack a punch. So you can unleash a remarkably open sound of pure power, or dial back the gain for those coveted clean tones. And, naturally, the humbucking design maintains stunning clarity throughout your playing. A warm, distinctive voice with each note you play. This is the way tone should be.
The importance of performance can often be overlooked. But, with over 70 years of guitar manufacturing expertise, Yamaha have ensured that the Revstar RS420 excels in both sound and feel. Featuring a slim nato neck, players can truly take control of each note they play, transitioning between chord shapes with maximum precision. And, layered with an ultra-smooth laurel fretboard, your fingers will soar across the velvety surface for a remarkably effortless playing experience. It's this care and detail taken by Yamaha that makes the RS420 such a joy to play. Because the Revstar's sparkling quality isn't just heard. It's experienced.
Coil-splitting. But not as you know it. The Yamaha Revstar RS420 comes fitted with the specially designed dry switch feature. With most coil-split humbuckers, after the pickup is split to sound like a single-coil, volume is lost and clarity muddied. Thanks to the dry switch, this won't happen with the Revstar. It filters out low frequencies, while maintaining output and fidelity. So you can experiment as much as you like with humbucker and single-coil voices, safe in the knowledge your sound will be on-point.
As much as we try to deny it, guitarists are shallow. All it takes is one stunning instrument to skew our perspective of which guitar we desire. But, with the Revstar's sensational design, you needn't worry about falling for any misleading quality. Because its brilliance spans across the entirety of its sound, feel, and distinctive style. Inspired by Yamaha's Café Racer motorcycles of the '60s, the Revstar's design is as stylish as they come. A unique, dual-cutaway body shape combines with a slick black pickguard for a breathtaking aesthetic. It's one of a kind. And it guarantees a striking presence on stage.
