Yamaha's R-N500 network receiver can play audio sources that have been downloaded from the internet and saved to a PC or NAS system. You can also play audio from music streaming services as well as internet radio.

Audio Playback and Audio Input

The Yamaha R-N500 has built in FLAC/WAV 192kHz/24bit playback that brings sonic quality and accuracy with raw power that's only possible from high resolution sources. The R-N500 is also equipped for digital audio input, with both optical and coaxial terminals. The optical is for receiving audio from a TV, and the coaxial for receiving audio from a Blu-ray player. The audio stays in the digital domain, giving you pure, pristine dynamic sound for all your entertainment sources, from sports and other programmes to movies and concerts.

Music Streaming

Yamaha's R-N500 supports AirPlay, which allows you to stream music from a variety of Apple products, such as the iPod Touch, iPhone, iPad and also any Mac or PC that features iTunes.

The R-N500 supports the vTuner radio station database that allows you to listen to radio broadcasts from around the worldby connecting to the internet via LAN.

On the front panel of the R-N500 is a USB port that allows you to connect Smartphones, iPods and tablets, this also charges your devices. This way of playing music is transmitted directly into the AV Receiver which means there is no signal loss or interference thus providing fantastic, high quality sound. The supplied remote also allows you to operate your devices music playback functions.

AV Controller App

The R-N500 allows use of the Yamaha AV Controller app and enables you to control power and volume, select input and DSP modes and operate other functions from an iPhone or Android devices. Use in 23 different languages and customise the interface by hiding unused icons and renaming functions. A tablet version is also available.

Design

The R-N500 by Yamaha features a simple yet unique design that provides a simple to use button layout and beautifully designed front panel with matching dials that help make this product look as great as it sounds.

This Receiver also has a dedicated loudness control that allows you to adjust the loudness effect as needed. This dial controls the balance of the low and high frequency sounds and provides a versatile control so you can get the sound you want.
