Mode Machines have done it again. They have taken something that everyone wants, but can't get and made it available. They did it with the x0xb0x which is a clone of the Roland TB303 and have now done it with the SID. The SID chip was used in the Commodore C64 and created that 8 bit sound that most retro gamer with remember. The Mode Machines SID is not only a synth module, but a Groovebox. The SID is capable of producing Drums, lead synth sounds and effects. The unite can be used with a computer or taken on the rode and used for live performances.

The SID is a Groovebox, so you can start producing compositions using the internal sequencer. The unit also features MIDI in and out, so if you are a computer composer it will fit into your home set-up with ease. The SID comes with the SID Studio Software, which allows you to control every parameter with ease.
The SID chip was first featured in the Commodore 64 in January 1982 and helped this home computer become the best selling computer of all time. The original SID chip had three channels, each with its own ADSR envelope generator, filter and ring modulator. This is the chip that kick started the games audio business.
