Full Description

The Nord Piano 2 HA88 makes use of the Nord Piano Library, a specialised library for Grand, Upright and Electrical Pianos, Clavinet and Harpsichords. The sounds have been recorded using Nord's state-of-the-art sampling techniques to capture the nuances and unique characters of the source instruments. The entire library is included on DVDs and covers everything from factory-new Grand Pianos to detuned upright bar pianos. New additions can be downloaded free on the Nord Piano Library page.

The included Nord Triple Pedal offers Soft and Sostenuto pedals, and a Dynamic Sustain pedal that allows the use of half-pedalling and "release and catch" techniques.

Other unique features on the Nord Piano 2 HA88 include Long Release, which adds a slightly longer release to the tone and is good for playing legato, Advanced String Resonance, which mimics the way piano strings resonate when other notes are played, and Pedal Noise, which recreates the mechanical sounds of lifting and releasing the damper mechanism, and responds dynamically to the force used when pressing or releasing the pedal.

The Sample Synth section supports the extensive Nord Sample Library and has dedicated knobs for adjusting the attack and release and volume of the selected sound. The Sostenuto pedal can be used as a separate Sustain/Gate pedal for the Sample Synth section, giving advanced layering possibilities. The included Nord Sample Editor lets you create your own sample instruments, and assists in looping and mapping your sounds.

The Piano 2 HA88 has an extensive Effect section with tweakable effects that can be assigned to either the Piano or the Sample Synth section. Effects include Delay, Tremolo, Phaser and six types of Reverb.

Dedicated knobs and buttons cover all the vital functions you need in a performance situation. You can transpose, set up a split point or create a layered sound in seconds. The keybed is calibrated at the factory for an even and homogenous response, and four selectable Dynamic Response Curves let you adjust the response of your keybed to your playing style and store them individually with each program.
