The ZED-428 is super flexible and super easy thanks to the USB integration. This makes it ideal for getting audio to and from your computer, making it perfect for live sound and music production. Simply plug in the ZED mixer to your PC through USB and select the USB routing on the mixer and the device on your computer, and you're ready to go. The ZED mixer retains the quality of audio through to your PC or Mac.
The ZED-428 features 24 full mono channels, 2 stereo channels and 6 auxiliary channels with an EQ on each channel making the ZED-428 incredibly versatile and practical. Most of the gain comes from the first stage, so that any unwanted noise is kept at minimum levels. The line level signals are plugged into the second stage of the preamp by using the line input jack. The advantage of this is that there is less noise when using the lineinput and also matching to a higher input impedance.
The Allen & Heath ZED-428 comes with the highly successful and proven DuoPre preamps that have carefully controlled gain over the dual stages. The DuoPre's have a 69 dB gain range that gives superb control over the signal level thanks to its even distribution around the gain control.
ZED-428 features a 3 band swept mid frequency EQ that utilises MusiQ, with optimised slope for individual EQ of instruments.
The ZED-428 includes Cakewalks' SONAR X1 LE to enable you to create your own music instantly. You will be able to create tracks, arrange songs and record straight from your ZED mixer, then you are able to play back to the ZED-428 via the USB port. The ZED and SONAR can be used together in different ways, for example you can use them for recording tracks individually to build up a song, simple recording or by using the USB port and software as an effects loop.
