Mollard P Series batons are designed for precision balance and lightweight response. This enables the conductor to not worry about the baton in itself but allows for absolute creativity and fluidity. The handle is slim line and elegant so that it can be controlled with ease with the conductor's fingertips. Available in smaller 12" and 14" shafts, these batons are perfectly suited to smaller ensembles up to approximately 30 or 40 players.
Hardwood Handles on P Series Batons
There are a number of different handles that the P Series baton will come with. The cocobolo wood is a dense wood that has a dark rustic brown colour and a black grain. Maple handles have been used for its strength and resilience but also its light colour. Purpleheart, while having a beautiful rose colour is also one of the hardest and most moisture resistant woods available. Rosewood is a very popular brown wood used in manufacturing many musical instruments and walnut is used in furniture for its pleasant finish and hard wearing properties.
