The Yamaha YFl211U flute stands itself above the other student series flutes through the use of a split E mechanism. This concept allows the performer to be able to get a secure and in tune sound at the top register of the instrument, with particular attention to the high E. This, combined with the offset G mechanism, provides the learner with an instrument that is easy and comfortable to play.
As one of Yamaha's most popular headjoints, the CY offers an excellent response due to a suitable resistance for student players with smaller lungs. The undercut hole design gives the instrument a warm and beautiful sound, encouraging the beginner to practise correct technique straight away. Even in higher and extreme low registers, the flute will still sound great and produce a warm tone. This flute has a curved headjoint, which makes it suitable for younger students who can't reach all the keys on a standard flute. As well as this, the instrument also contains a straight headjoint for when the student is able to reach all the keys.
Everything has been set up on this flute for the student in mind. The key posts on this instrument have been thickened to aid durability and create a harder wearing instrument and the adjustment screws have been placed in a more accessible area for small adjustments.. The keywork itself has been designed to be ergonomic for the student with slightly smaller than average fingers. To finish it off, alignment marks have been added to the instrument so that younger players will be able to correctly set up the instrument ready for playing.
