When originally released the Les Paul junior was given a stripped back-to-basics look to make the instrument more affordable to students and those on restricted budgets. It was immediately identifiable by the two cut-aways - one on each shoulder of the instrument and used Gibson P90 pick-ups.
The original model has now been re-issued by Gibson who have replicated it exactly as it appeared in its original state. The body and neck are solid Mahogany with a 22 fret Rosewood fret board and dot position markers, the pick-ups are once again P90 hum-buckers each with its own tone and volume control.
