Each of the toms on this kit feature graduated counter hoops, meaning the smaller shells feature a thinner hoop. This allows the drum to resonate more freely, producing a much richer tone. These toms are also fitted with suspension tom mounts, allowing the toms to resonate independently, without hardware to shell contact.

True-pitch rods provide more accurate tuning
In order to provide drummers with even more control over their own sound, DW has created its True-Pitch rod system. The rods feature 5mm threads rather than the standard 12/24 that occurs on most other drums resulting in a more exacting tuning process.
MAG throw-off allows you to change timbre quickly
The DW MAG Throw-off is an absolute workhorse, with horizontal tension adjustment and a smooth, easy-to-adjust action. Its integrated magnet means it won't release without a firm tug. But when it does, it throws the strainer completely off the head to avoid unwelcome snare buzz.
