With their all-new, digital snare, hi-hat, and ride cymbal pads, the TD-50 kits represent a giant leap forward in e-drum technology. Electrostatic sensors (like the ones in your phone or tablet screen) detect the presence and position of your stick, hand or fingers on various areas of the pad, allowing a radical new range of timbres.
The ride and hi-hat cymbals can now be choked simply by placing a hand on top of the cymbal's surface. Leave your hand there, and you'll discover a world of interesting and responsive muted tones, too. When playing cross-stick sections, the PD-140DS snare pad reacts to your hand's position on the head, while also supporting positional sensing, triggering subtle variations in tone depending on where you strike the head.
The TD-50X drum module isn’t just about selecting a sound and playing. You can customise every aspect of your chosen kit to suit your personal style and taste. You can quickly make alterations to the tuning, muffling, size, and material of any drum, with all of your changes saved in real-time.
For maximum customisation, why not start with a blank slate? Build your dream kit from scratch, selecting shell depth and head types for drums, as well as diameter, thickness, and other characteristics for cymbals. And, with the PureAcoustic Ambience technology, you can instantly place your kit in different virtual environments. This provides an entirely different sound due to the natural reverb of the environment. From tight, dry studios to massive arenas and everything in-between, the TD-50X allows you to find the perfect sound for you.
The TD-50X's world of useful input and output connections make it ideal for professional drummers. Whether you're at home, in the studio, or on the road, you'll find comprehensive connectivity that's as in-depth or simplistic as you need it to be.
For rehearsal, a stereo 'Mix-In' jack allows super simple play-along practise, while ten full assignable, balanced TRS outs allow individual drum elements, room sounds, or effects to be sent to a recording or live engineer, just as you would with an acoustic kit. Four additional Aux trigger inputs allow massive expandability, with enough scope for extra effects cymbals, toms, timbales, or any other audio samples to occupy their own physical space around your kit.
A kit as sturdy and stellar as this needs a mounting system to match. The MDS-Stage2 rack is a fully curved, chrome stand system, and features an innovative internal cabling system - no messy wiring here. Its rock-solid construction is the perfect match for the KV2's heavy duty pads, providing a substantial foundation for the kit, even with the most energetic of drummers.
All its robust brackets and clamps are highly adjustable. Most notably the ball-clamp operated tom holders and cymbal tilters allow pin-point accuracy with no compromises. Durable, movable metal clamps allow versatility in your setup, with the ability to remove and add elements, as well as to place them exactly where they need to be.
Everything about Roland's KV2 V-drum set has been crafted to offer the most realistic playing experience possible. This is most evident in the construction of the drums and pads themselves. Its crash cymbal pads are 40 percent thinner than their predecessors, meaning they flex and swing on contact in a much more convincing way - essential when rehearsing tricky parts.
A deep, 18" diameter kick drum provides all the response of an acoustic drum, due to the column of air within it, and the tension-adjustable heads, which allow you to dial in your preferred level of beater rebound. Likewise, the tom pads all feature drum key adjustable mesh heads. One great feature of this is that it allows you to adjust the tension of the second rack tom to more accurately represent the response of a larger tom, despite their identical size.
