This audio rate oscillator generates both sine waves and pulse waves across a frequency range that covers almost the entire audible spectrum, from 20Hz to 10kHz. With the TUNE knob, you have precise manual control over the frequency, enabling you to fine-tune your sounds. Additionally, the VCO offers voltage control over frequency, allowing you to connect external control voltage sources such as keyboards or sequencers for chromatic tuning using the 1V/oct input. The FM IN with its control voltage attenuator (FM knob) offers frequency modulation capabilities, producing a subtle, low-frequency vibrato effect.

Waveform generators and mixer section

The Bullfrog also features a fascinating array of aperiodic waveform generators, which generate completely random waveforms. To harness their potential and shape your sound further, the Mixer section comes into play. Each waveform's volume, or amplitude, can be adjusted individually using the Mixer knobs. This means you have precise control over the characteristics of each waveform. In addition to the individual waveforms, the mixer allows you to create a mixed signal, where you can determine the balance of each waveform sent to the MIX OUT.

This versatility allows you to not only mix the preset waveforms from the VCO and noise but also process external audio signals from other synthesizers or even create sounds through feedback loops. With the Bullfrog's MIXER's external inputs (IN 1, IN 2, IN 3), the possibilities are truly endless, giving you the ability to incorporate various sources and create truly unique sonic landscapes.
