The TubeDreamer Plus features the same circuitry as the TubeDreamer72, with its “secret” chip offering unique tones throughout the range of gain and tone settings, and its asymmetrical clipping circuit keeping the pedal responsive, even to the subtlest playing nuances. The added feature of the Plus model is its high gain stage providing an extensive range of dynamics and tonal possibilities. An internal trimmer regulates the output level of the gain toggle switch, letting you choose between a boosted signal or a unity gain when in high gain mode. Also, depending on the pedal's gain settings, the high gain can produce a thin, creamy overdrive or create a sweet, fat distorted tone.
