The DS-9 Distortion Pedal features the “Sonique” distortion found in famous 80’s green neon pedals, and the distortion found in famous 80’s “Orange” pedals. Keeley’s pedal can access these two incredible sounds via a toggle switch, with the SD mode offering the high bass output of the neon green pedals, whilst the DS mode offers the high gain of the “Orange” Pedals. The toggle switch controls a relay that moves the circuit elements around, depending on which mode you’re in. This provides an accurate recreation of the two different pedals, offering a more authentic sound.
Specially Designed Bass Cutoff Control
For the DS-9, a new control was created in order to blend between the low end gain responses of the two pedals. The bass cutoff control can be used to create new sounds by varying the amount of low end gain. The control can produce “SD” style super low bass and gain or be turned up to cut bass deep for a tight and punchy distortion.
