The CHB-2 follows on from the popular CHB-1 which was the first bass guitar design from Bristol based company Chowny and filled a gap in the market with its short-scale semi-hollow design that offered quality tonewoods and reliable hardware at a highly affordable price-point. This instrument delivers a versatile dual humbuker setup mounted to a bright and airy semi-hollow body. The Chowney CHB-2 offers the same great tone and aesthetics as the CHB-1 but with a full 33'' scale for a full-sized playing experience.
Quality Tonewoods
The CHB-2 features a maple body with stunning flamed maple top. Its semi-hollow design provides great un-plugged resonance and a bright and airy tonality. A blackwood fingerboard mounted to a maple neck provides articulation and low-end response, along with a smooth playing feel.
Unique Playability & Versatility
After 2017 the CHB-1 featured increased top-fret access from its double cutaway design and the CHB-2 provides the same design. The full sized 33’’ scale-length has been balanced against the body proportion so it will be equally comfortable playing sat down and stood up. The dual humbuckers with dual tone/vol controls and 3-way selector provide a versatile setup that can achieve a wide range of tones and styles of music; see the product videos for a great demonstration of this.
Classy Aesthetic
The CHB-2 really stands out from the crowd with its dual F-hole semi hollow body and its 5-ply binding. The vintage humbuckers pair perfectly with the ebony floating style bridge and gives this guitar a real vintage-inspired aesthetic that will look great at any gig.
