Grand Auditorium Body

The Dean AXS Performer features a comfortable and versatile shape; the grand auditorium. The shape is equally as suited to fingerpicking as it is to strumming, making it ideal for different genres and styles of play. The grand auditorium is an all-purpose guitar that provides an incredibly comfortable playing experience and projects a voice that can accommodate numerous genres and playing techniques, from fingerpicking folk styles to strumming rock and pop genres. To provide extra comfort and playability the AXS features a Venetian cutaway design.

Venetian Cutaway

The Venetian Cutaway is renowned for its soft, round lines, creating a visually stunning look that is recognisable on any body. This type of cutaway allows easier access to the upper frets for a comfortable play, and enables you with more freedom throughout the fingerboard.

Spruce Top & Mahogany Body

The Dean AXS Performer features a spruce top that offers a broad dynamic range and crisp articulation. Spruce is the most commonly used wood for guitar tops as it generates a versatile sound and accommodates numerous playing styles, from aggressive to fingerpicking. The wood itself is quite elastic in nature, which resonates well whilst remaining strong, and provides a focused, clear sound of deep lows, warm mid-range, and bright sparkling highs. The spruce top is coupled with mahogany back and sides that add a characterised warmth to the brightly toned spruce top.

Mahogany Neck & Rosewood Fingerboard

The AXS's neck is crafted from mahogany, providing players with resonance and great durability. The reason why many guitar necks are crafted from mahogany is because the wood responds greatly to different styles of play, from fingerpicking techniques to different strumming patterns with equal ease. The neck is topped with a rosewood fingerboard that delivers a bright, warm, sparkly tone that really shines through when using fingerpicking techniques. The rosewood fingerboard also provides a smooth and energetic playing experience and is sprinkled with pearl dot inlays for added elegance.

Dean On-Board Preamp - DMT SL3

The Dean AXS comes stage ready and is ideal for the gigging guitarist, offering tone control and amplified acoustic sound within an easy to use, compact system. The DMT SL3 features a phase button, slider switches for bass, middle, and treble, and an easy read LED screen for tuning in any environment. The AXS is fitted with a piezo pickup to amplify each string picked, projecting a pure and full bodied sound that will shine bright on any stage.
