Lightweight Basswood Body
Like others in the Wolfgang series, the WG Standard Electric Guitar features a lightweight, basswood body which eliminates any shoulder strain, perfect for gigging musicians who require a lighter model, and also beginners. Basswood is commonly used for guitar manufacture due to its warm and balanced tone, which is perfect for any style. In addition, this basswood body also features a special “comfort cut” forearm contour, providing optimum comfort throughout your performance.
Comfortable Compound Radius Neck
As well as featuring a comfortable body, the EVH Wolfgang WG also includes a unique and innovative compound-radius fingerboard design, that gradually flattens toward the heel from its more rounded profile at the nut. This provides smooth playability for both chords and riffs, whilst the flattened heel allows a sensational and speedy accessibility to the higher register perfect for both lead and rhythm players. A maple fingerboard with black dot inlays is also included, and adds crisp clarity to the overall tone.
Direct Mount Wolfgang Humbucking Pickups
The EVH Wolfgang WG Standard Electric Guitar is equipped with a pair of Wolfgang humbucking pickups that are mounted directly to the body for increased vibration transfer, and prolonged sustain. These pickups are well-known for delivering fierce and screaming highs, defined middle and deep and chunky low end allowing you to perfect Eddie Van Halen's signature tone. Each pickup is equipped with alnico II magnets and a DC resistance of 14k (bridge) and 16k (neck), which makes them perfect for a range of playing styles due to their medium output and powerful vintage tone. Players can easily shape their sound using the domed control knobs for Volume and Tone, along with the 3-position toggle switch.
EVH-Branded Floyd Rose Special Tremolo
For many years Floyd Rose has been the leading manufacturer and designer of floating, locking tremolos. With a design that has stood strong for over 30 years the Floyd Rose Special locking tremolo allows you to adjust the string tension and pitch with the removable whammy bar to create unique sounds such as dive bombs. Unlike non-locking tremolo's the Floyd Rose Special bridge can make huge changes in pitch but still retain the initial tuning by addition of the Floyd Rose R2 locking nut at the end of the headstock.
About Eddie Van Halen
Edward Lodewijk Van Halen is an Dutch-American musician, known best as the founder of the rock band Van Halen. Throughout his long and successful career, Eddie has been considered as one of the best and most influential guitarists to date. As well as a famous music career, Eddie has also invented many guitar components such as the D-Tuna, innovative headstocks and many more.
