Together this mixture of tonewoods provides the player with what is well-known as the classic acoustic sound, renowned for its versatility and ability to play beautifully within many different genres and playing styles.
The DR-100 Acoustic features a dreadnought body, offering great volume and projection whilst maintaining overall tonal balance, perfect for a wide range of genres and a loud acoustic performance. The tone produced is able to accommodate numerous genres and playing styles with ease including bluegrass, rock, pop, indie, folk, roots music, and country, as well as flatpicking, western, and slide techniques. Furthermore, the big, bold dreadnought body offers a comfortable playing experience, although it is better-suited to the player more comfortable with bigger-bodied guitars, and those with a longer reach.
Constructed from okoume, the DR-100's neck neck delivers similar tonal properties to maple, delivering a clear, bright tonality with good sustain and plenty of bite. For enhanced playability the neck also features a slim taper, making it easy to move up and down the neck and prevents a cramping left hand. In addition, the okoume neck is topped with rosewood fingerboard that adds clarity and warmth to the guitar's overall sound as well as providing a smooth and energetic playing experience.
