The SRF706 is elegantly crafted with a mahogany wing body with a brown burst flat finish. As well as visual aesthetics, the SRF706 offers comfortable contours and a single cutaway design, allowing full access of the whole fingerboard with ease. The extended neck joint also adds a unique appearance to this model, and makes higher frets easier to reach.
The Ibanez SRF706 is equipped with a set of Bartolini MK-1 pickups, with its split coil design delivering a wide frequency range with definition and superb accuracy. Both pickups offer an incredible response like traditional single-coils, but without any unwanted hum and noise for the ultimate performance. The 3-band EQ lets you mould every nuance of your sound, offering an incredibly wide range of tonal possibilities as you shape and craft the bass' sound.
This stunning guitar is paired with a maple neck that is designed for comfort, delivering an incredible performance suitable to a wide variety of playing styles. Mounted with a maple fingerboard, players can achieve a snappy tone with sizzling highs and firm lows. The maple tonewood provides the guitar with a beautifully bright characteristic, tightening up the overall tones and delivering plenty of cut and bite. The maple and walnut through-neck provides increased sustain and superior tone. The fingerboard is made of panga panga which provides a smooth playing surface for comfortable, fast play.
On the back of the SR are recessed controls that allow you to control the volume of the Ibanez-exclusive Aerosilk Piezo pickup. They are attached to each individual string. By adjusting the volume, perfect string balanced and response can be achieve.
The bass features an EQ section for controlling the Bartolini pickups with the AeroSilk Piezo system. It offers controls for volume, balance, and bass and treble controls for the pickups, with master volume and tone control for the Piezo system.
A custom bridge has been created specifically for optimum performance of the AeroSilk Piezo pickup system. The unique plastic saddles are designed to work seamlessly with the Piezo pickups and enhance the acoustic 'stand-up' quality of the sound.
