A revolution in comfort and tone. The Hype GTR features a multi-scale design with fanned frets, providing the player with optimum playability and incredible tone. Ormsby's remarkable multi-scale design has been developed over 10 years to deliver the most stunning, thrilling playing experience possible.
Each string has its own scale length, giving each note you play on every string perfect tonal sharpness. For example, the bass strings don't stretch as much as they would on a standard guitar when you hit them with force. This decreases the pitch increase you often get on lower strings when striking them aggressively. Intonation stays unbelievably accurate, no matter how energetically you play.
Then there's the feel. There's never been a guitar that fits as flawlessly as the Hype Multi-Scale does in your hands, thanks to Ormsby's acutely designed fanned frets. The fretboards stretch out at gradually increasing angles from a straight fret at the 9th fret position. Ormsby's extensive research in developing the multi-scale revealed that this is the most natural resting position for the majority of guitarists. The frets then spread at angles from this central point to align with the shape of your wrist at various points along the neck. This completely eliminates cramp, and allows you to play on and on for as long as possible. This is just as well - the Hype is so playable, you'll never want to stop.
Aggression and tone in an amazingly powerful pickup combination. The Hype Multi-Scale GTR has a Nunchucker A8 bridge humbucker and a De La Creme A2 neck humbucker to give you a truly remarkable sound. These are Ormsby's own, wound in-house pickups designed to ideally suit the sound of each individual guitar they craft. When as much effort goes into making an instrument as it does with an Ormsby, a perfectly matched electronic system is essential to ensure sound quality is at the maximum.
The De La Creme neck pickup gives you clean rhythm tones to make every chord you play sound gorgeously defined. Its real talent, though, comes in its ability to make lead notes sing with sparkling sharpness. Combine this with the Nunchucker A8 bridge pickup which delivers scintillating aggression, and you've got a powerful pickup mix to give you astounding versatility and gigantic sound.
Never miss a note. Traditional set-neck guitars can often be restricting, with poor access to the highest frets. The Hype GTR's ultra-modern, deep carve set-neck points to what the future of set-neck construction should look like. Its deep carve gives unhindered access to every fret along the neck. You'll be able to solo and shred with complete creative freedom, knowing that you can comfortably use every fret.
Attractive, eye-catching, and thoroughly majestic. A guitar that looks like no other. The Hype Multi-Scale GTR is a stunning example of how to make an instrument that well and truly stands out in a crowd. A slim body is incredibly sleek. The pointed headstock gives a vicious, in-your-face edge to the overall aesthetic. This phenomenal image is enhanced further by the guitar's luxurious, chameleon colour change finish. It twinkles. Each time it catches the light, you'll be able to see a different shade of vibrant, vivid colour. You'll never stop gazing at the Hype GTR.
The perfect tuning, for years to come. The key to achieving complete sonic brilliance. A hard-wearing, long-lasting bone nut locks your strings in place. Your tune will stay flawless for longer, eliminating the need for irritating re-tuning between songs. Bone is incredibly strong, and is the go-to premium material for manufacturing the nuts of the very best guitars in existence. Its strength also means the nut will last for many years, protecting your strings and removing the hassle of having to regularly replace the nut, as is the case with some weaker nut materials. Discover faultless precision in sound.
A tireless journey to craft the perfect guitar. Perry Ormsby was a talented carpenter for years before starting Ormsby Guitars. He would repeatedly promise to himself that he'd one day use his carpentry skills to make a fantastic guitar. The dream would eventually become a reality when Perry decided to give up everything, quit his job, sell his house, and chase his fantasy.
He never looked back. Shortly after crafting his very first model, word spread amongst guitarists, and Ormsby soon had an instrument waiting list of over two years. With the amazing multi-scale development, the company has gone from strength to strength. Their guitars are particularly popular within metal and hard rock genres, but are also suitable for blues and punk playing due to their magnificent playability. Original models crafted with love, passion, and extreme attention-to-detail.
