Strongly inspired by the classic Appalachian Dulcimer, the Merlin features diatonic frets, with the intervals following the notes of the major scale, rather than the usual chromatic fretting. This simple fret pattern makes the Merlin an exceptionally fun and easy instrument to learn for all players.
The Merlin features a solid Spruce top and 3 piece Rock Maple body, giving it a rich and vibrant tone with excellent projection. It also features a ''moustache'' style Tusq® bridge and compensated Tusq® saddle for improved clarity and sustain, along with vintage-style open geared tuners and a Satin Oil finish.
