Tanglewood TEQ-3BT Electronics

Including a TEQ-3BT preamp and electronic system, the Discovery DBT SFCE SBL can be connected to amps and P.A systems, perfect for live performance. The TEQ-3BT preamp incorporates a responsive and dynamic pickup and 3-band equalizer to fine tune and tweak the tone. Additionally the TEQ-3BT also has a built in tuner for precise and easy tuning.

Spruce & Linden Construction

The Tanglewood DBT SFCE SBL features a stunning spruce top which yields crisp articulation and a broad dynamic range. Spruce is the most commonly used wood for guitar tops as it generates a versatile sound and accommodates numerous playing styles, from aggressive to fingerpicking. The wood itself is quite elastic in nature, which resonates well whilst remaining strong, and provides a focused, clear sound of deep lows, warm midi-range, and bright sparkling highs. Its brightly toned spruce top is paired with linden back and sides, which is also commonly known as basswood, and offers a unique fundamental with a hint of sweetness and a little bite and growl all of its own. Both tonewoods offer their own unique tonal character to the Tanglewood DBT SFCE SBL, and will sound just as great when amplified for live performance.

Mahogany Neck & Rosewood Fingerboard

Constructed from mahogany, the Discovery's neck provides durability and great resonance. Mahogany is used massively in the acoustic world, as the wood responds greatly to many different styles of play with ease, and offers a richly-resonant sound that accommodates fingerpicking to aggressive strumming equally well. The neck is topped with a rosewood fingerboard which has a bright tonal character and produces a sizzling-sparkle that really shines through when using fingerpicking techniques. Its rosewood fingerboard also offers a smooth and energetic playing experience and is sprinkled with white dot inlays for an elegant look.

Super Folk Body Shape

The Tanglewood DBT SFCE SBL features Tanglewood's iconic super folk body shape, which not only provides an extremely comfortable play, but plays beautifully well within the folk genres and finger-styled play. The super folk was built with folk players in mind, and provides a soundboard that accommodates numerous different fingerpicking techniques with ease. Its nipped-in waist and smaller body is ideal for beginners and those that are just hitting the studio and open mic nights, as well as smaller gigs, as its lightweight body sits very comfortably on the knee for long periods of time.
