The CBC machine assisted build quality far surpasses its human counterparts. Absolute quality of build is assured with this beautifully crafted bass guitar. The construction is tight and high grade - exactly what Taylor are known for. Just because the bass is smaller, does not mean it loses any of the care and attention that Taylor afford their more mainline gear. It is flawless.
The purfling-inlaid topwood espouses the tight build and the 20 frets are laid into the quick, ebony neck. Its Sitka Spruce top sits on a maple body - it's solid and the non-cutaway curves are in the classic Grand Symphony shape. Along with the Micarta saddle, the tortoise shell pickguard, the ebony bridge - it all adds up to what is an exceptional made guitar, with that famous Taylor love and care.
Across the Taylor GS Mini-e Maple Bass' easy to play 20 fret neck you will find all the responsive expression you're used to with your full sized bass guitar. Despite it's petite frame, the bass sports a grand low end. The specially made D'Addario strings are easy to play with a reactive 'roly poly' feeling and are wound with phosphor-bronze material. Taylor use these strings as their compactness is the only way to get the expressive tone from GS Mini-E, this means that ONLY these strings can be used. Its short neck and close frets mean you'll be able to fly up and down your scales - an easy to play back that loses none of it's expressive quality. If you're a guitar player looking to make the switch the deep low end of the bass then this is a really great place to start and you should be laying down those walking bass lines in no time.
It's gig night. You're playing a pretty large venue. How do you know that this tiny bass can be heard along with the rest of the music? As standard, it comes with great picks which allow you to plug the bass into an amp.
When plugged in, the bass can keep up with the dynamics of a full live band, whether in rehearsal or in venues big and small. The on-board ES-B piezo pick up and accompanying preamplifier give the bass serious gigging power. The pick up is placed directly under the saddle which means it can output an extremely expressive tone even when cranked up to the high volumes - managed wonderfully by its pre-amp. And due to it's small neck size you can play all night without a hint of ache. No complaints from your hands, no complaints from your band.
If that's not enough, it also has a built in tuner so you can always make sure the music stays tight.

Please note: Due to the wonders of engineering and careful craftwork that went into building the Taylor GS Mini-e Maple Bass, it will ONLY work with D'Addario EXP PBB190GS strings. Use of other strings will damage the bass.
