Built for enthusiasts of heavy metal, the Washburn Signature Solar Guitar is finished with a brutal matte black colour and sharp contours, embodying the very spirit of metal. This sultry finish not only looks the part, but is also great under stage spotlights and on photographs as it eliminates that undesired shine that you would usually get with glossy finishes. The lightweight alder body sports a double cutaway shape, offering full access to the higher frets and providing an elegant design that will look great on any stage. Its maple neck and ebony fingerboard provide an incredible smooth performance, perfect for fast position changes.
The Washburn Parallaxe is equipped with a pair of specially designed pickups form Seymour Duncan called "Solar." The Seymour Duncan Solar pickups are unique to Ola Englund's signature series, delivering a tightly focused sound with incredible clarity to allow the strings to ring as clear as crystal with every note. Controlling these Duncan Solar Humbuckers is easy with the volume and tone control knobs. The 5-way blade allows you to easily select different pickup selections, and even split the humbuckers to make them sound like single coils. These wide choice of versatile tones makes the Parallaxe ideal for recording and touring.
The Washburn Parallaxe Solar guitar features an additional low B string, which will take your music to new lows, as well as offer more versatility to your sound. This extra string will also make the guitar stand out from any crowd, and add a distinctive edge to your performances.
The Buzz Feiten tuning system is a uniquely designed formula that uses a compensated nut and saddle to correct the inherent problems commonly found in the western tuning formula. By incorporating a specially designed shelf nut, the strings are moved closer to the first fret with absolute precision. This is achieved by considering the guitar’s scale length, fret width, and string gauge to eliminate sharp notes at the first three frets. The bridge is also adjusted using patented pitch offsets to create well balanced intonations across the entire fingerboard. This system is favoured by musicians such as Eddie Van Halen, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Liona Boyd and Andy Summers.
