The Sonos Beam soundbar is designed to produce rich and powerful high-fidelity sound that is perfect for TV programs, films, radio and any genre of music. The Sonos Beam features five digital class-D amplifiers which are precisely tuned to complement all of the drivers and the unique acoustic architecture. The tweeter and four full-range woofers produce an immersive sound with deep bass frequencies, a well-defined mid-range and crystal-clear highs.
The Beam soundbar is also equipped two selectable sound modes, Speech enhancement and Night Sound, as well as adjustable bass and treble controls. Night sound enables you to watch TV programs and films late at night without worrying about waking other people in the house. Additionally, the speech enhancement function delivers enhanced clarity for audio dialogue, ensuring you never miss what's being said.
The Beam sound bar can be combined with additional Sonos speakers to create immersive sound systems. Create a 3.1 entertainment system by adding an additional Sonos SUB subwoofer or a 5.1 surround sound system by connecting an additional Sonos SUB and two Sonos One speakers. The Sonos Beam has a sleek and unobtrusive aesthetic design which is perfect for any home, it can sit underneath your TV or be mounted horizontally against a wall.
The Sonos Beam can be controlled by your voice using Alexa, by an iOS device using AirPlay, the Sonos app or by the app for your favourite music streaming service.
You can control all your music and rooms with an Android™ or iOS™ device. A free downloadable app lets you control the Beam sound bar from the palm of your hand. If you have multiple Sonos speakers in other rooms you can control what music is playing in every room, from anywhere in your house. Sonos Controllers aren't tied to a specific device so you can use any smartphone or tablet to control the music and volume in all your rooms.
The Sonos Beam can be quickly and easy set-up in just a couple of minutes. Download the Sonos app to your smartphone or tablet and simply plug in the Beam's power supply and connect it to your TV using the HMDI. (If your TV does not support HDMI ARC, use the included Optical Audio Adapter instead). Once connected, just follow the on-screen instructions within the app.
"The Sonos Beam aims to fill a hole in living rooms where a full-size soundbar or soundbase is too big or too costly. And while it's not the first speaker of this size to try and do TV sound and music, it's undoubtedly one of the best-specified."
"Most importantly, based on our brief first impressions, Sonos doesn't appear to have taken its eye off the audio quality, even in a smaller, more affordable product."

"...Sonos has tuned the speaker to be versatile with both music and movie audio - focusing a lot of its attention in the mid-range. Bass has some oomph to it, and can be upgraded with the addition of the Sonos Sub, while the highs peeked through periodically."
"The Sonos Beam looks to be a solid entry-level speaker in the manufacturer’s living room collection. It’s not as powerful as the Sonos Playbar but it seems to be able to match the Playbase while one day supporting all three major voice assistants."
