Named because the envelope shape reminds you of a trapeze, TRAPEZOID is a mind-blowing looping generator. In terms of how the generator functions, there's a lot of parallels between the generator associated with the EMS Synthi. The generation of control voltages allows it to control the modular synthesizer. From here you'll be able to adjust the amplitude of the signal, oscillator pitch, filters, reverb blends and so much more!
The SYNTRX is like no other machine. You'll find that patching on this highly capable modular synthesizer requires a non-linear approach. Without the patch matrix the modular synth won't make a sound. Luckily for you its design is incredibly intuitive and aims to provide you with endless possibilities to satisfying the most creative personas.
You'll feel like you're in an arcade when using the SYNTRX's Joy-stick. This enables you to manipulate two bipolar control voltages simultaneously. Each of the CVs can be allocated to control parameters on other modules for further adjustments.By using the X and Y level controls you're able to adjust in real-time the range of control voltage that is allocated. This can be adjusted between -5V to +5V.
You'll find that the Joystick comes up as pins 15 and 16 on the SYNTRX's patch matrix. That's not all. There's a secret feature... The control voltage that can be found in user controlled MIDI CC messages is added to the joystick's. Empowering you with even more versatility when using the modular synth.
The SYNTRX has not one, but two built-in speakers. These go way beyond monitoring purposes and allow you to take your sonics to the next level, by experimenting with feedback. When playing back audio at louder volumes, the speaker's will gradually begin to distort. By engaging the spring reverb you can take this sound even further, creating wild and frenzied feedback loops.Experiment using a microphone directly on the speaker to capture lo-fi recordings of these ephemeral moments to add unique moments to your productions and performances.
Erica Synths understand that this is not the best option for monitoring. Because of this the SYNTRX also boasts a connector for headphones, giving you the best of both worlds. The speakers don't always have to be on either, simply adjusting the MUTE/On toggle allows you to decide whether you'd like them on or off.
