Key Features
The xoxbox (pronounced 'zocks box') was originally released as a home build kit with the premise of allowing you to build an accurate clone of a very famous bassline groove-box. Unfortunately not everyone had the time and skill to complete such a project, so Mode Machines have now decided to release the unit fully built and ready to squelch. This box has been designed to be modern day Acid House machine with USB compatibility and audio input.

If you are looking to re-create that classic analogue bass sound used heavily in 80's house, then look no further. This is a hand-build clone on the Roland TB303 and is as close to the sound as you could possibly ever get. The electronics inside the box feature the same Sawtooth and Square waveforms, with the classic low-pass resonant filter which creates that authentic Acid sound. As well as featuring MIDI IN/OUT/THRU the xoxbox also has CV/GATE and USB.
There are 3 ways to programme the xoxbox. The first was is the traditional input and next TB303 method. Put simply you choose a note, select which octave you would like it to play and if you want it to accent or slide. After each selection you press next and move onto the next step. In this mode you can easily move backwards and forwards to edit and correct steps. The second process is more intuitive and hands on. For this mode the xoxbox is in run mode and as the LEDs are chase each other across the front panel you enter the notes using the keyboard. In this mode you can create some really interesting patterns quickly. The final way to create patterns is easily the quickest. With the patten running all you need to do is press Chain, and if your in Patten Edit mode the sequencer creates a completely new pattern.
