The E-X50 includes sounds derived from Roland's iconic stage and home piano, providing a rich and expressive piano sound that fits right in at your house as well as the concert hall. Roland has also included 700 additional sounds from all families of instruments. Other keyboard instruments like organs and electric pianos can be used, or you could delve into the world of the symphony orchestra with the strings, brass and woodwind sounds. Of course, a Roland keyboard would not be complete without synth sounds. Naturally, these are taken from Roland's extensive history of making iconic synthesizers.
This instrument has a truly exceptional set of speakers. With separate tweeters and woofers this keyboard can deliver the sound necessary to fill rooms and provide quality and clarity. The added bass reflex port for extra quality and fidelity in the bass reproduction shows that Roland really knows what they're doing here.
Want to practice your ensemble playing when not able to rehearse with your band? You can use the auto-accompaniment feature to command a full band with your left hand as you play. With 300 preset styles from countless genres and traditions, you will be certain to find a type of music that suits you. If you are starting at the piano or keyboard, the auto bass chord mode will help you by triggering chords by only playing one or two fingers. This mode can be extended into Whole mode where you can have even more control over arrangements with full left-hand chords. A great mode for more advanced players.
Roland has included the connectivity many people have come to expect now on modern keyboards. And the implementation is fantastic. Bluetooth can be used to stream songs and lessons directly to your keyboard's speakers from your phone or tablet. This works with any audio too, so whether you are listening to your favourite song on a streaming service, or watching an instructional video you can listen through the speakers.
Advanced users will be able to level up the functionality of their keyboard by using Roland's Style Converter software. This gives you advanced levels of control over arrangements and allows you to store up to 30 custom styles to your E-X50's onboard storage. You can change parameters like the scale and tuning to build a unique arrangement.
The USB connections also provide a cutting-edge element to this instrument. You can load songs directly from a USB stick for practice or performances. It is also possible to interface with your favourite music software through USB.
The E-X50 may have Bluetooth and computer connectivity. But that doesn't mean physical inputs for microphones or instruments have been neglected. Plug a microphone into the 1/4" jack and take advantage of the several onboard vocal effects on this instrument. Send the audio to an external speaker system with the stereo outputs, a good feature for gigging musicians.
