SG2 Silent system

The SG2 silent system from Yamaha allows you to play the piano silently by using headphones. When activated, the hammers no longer strike the strings. Instead, an advanced sensor detects the movement of the keys, sends this information to the digital tone module and allows you to hear your playing through headphones. This means that you can practise with a true piano action at any time without being disturbed, or disturbing others. The SG2 silent system also allows you to play through your headphones using 10 voices, including harpsichord, organ and strings. With the MIDI connection, you can use your Yamaha Silent Piano to connect to your computer or other mobile devices allowing you to use your acoustic piano with the latest apps and software.

Piano Tuning

All Pianos are delivered by Gear4music having been tuned and prepared before delivery. It is recommended that you have your new Piano tuned 4-6 weeks after delivery to its final location. A new piano requires tuning due to the changes in temperature and humidity of its environment which can cause expansion or contraction of the components altering the tension of the strings. Movement of the piano's cabinet within the delivery process can also be a factor in this. The cost of this tuning is the responsibility of the customer and is not part of the purchase price.
