Key Features
The Conn 52H Bb/F Dual Bore Tenor Trombone is the perfect instrument for students and amateur musicians looking to upgrade to an intermediate level instrument. The dual bore slide gives the player more initial resistance from the narrow bore, but then opens up to produce a bigger sound which is often found on large bore trombones. The Conn 52H is so versatile that it can be played in both large symphonic orchestras and small jazz ensembles.

The Conn 52H Bb/F features a rose brass bell which is the material of choice for orchestral brass musicians. The high copper content in rose brass allows for a much darker sound than yellow brass can achieve. The 52H has a chrome plated nickel silver inner slide which provides a bright and powerful sound. Nickel silver is used for many premium trombone slides because it's firmer and has greater corrosion resistance compared to standard brass. The 52H is finished with a layer of clear lacquer to make sure the instrument stays looking newer for longer.
The closed wrap style of F tubing found on the Conn 52H is the most widely played in the world. It involves two loops turned on themselves with bends in the air column pathway. Many trombonists prefer this style as it provides a more compact sound which also balances more evenly than the open wrap style. The Conn 52H features a dual bore slide with the first slide measuring .525" and the second slide measuring .547". This feature allows the trombone to be lighter in weight and play similar to a small bore trombone, but can also achieve the large symphonic sound often associated with large bore trombones. All the trombones in the Conn 52H series are made using the same manufacturing processes used when making the 88H - Conn's premium trombone series. These high-end features make the Conn 52H ideal for anyone looking to upgrade their instrument to a more advanced model, without paying a premium price tag.
