When you play the Theo Wanne Narayan, the first thing you will notice is how huge the sound is - it's a beast! This is mostly due to the proprietary titanium alloy neck combined with a unique taper. Not only does this neck improve intonation, but also makes altissimo playing easier than ever. If you want a more natural, big-band-style sound, then the Narayan also includes a Vintified brass neck.
The Narayan design was actually inspired by famed vintage saxophones of times gone by, and can often sound like a vintage Selmer. But unlike vintage models, the Narayan will take more and more air, so it has much more projection. To further help with your tone, the Narayan saxophone features Theo Wanne's special three-point super-strong bell-to-body brace. Not only does this brace look fantastic, but it also enables the bell to vibrate more than a standard brace would.
Thanks to the Narayan saxophone being made in the USA, you can be assured it's built to the highest quality. Unlike other saxophone models, the Narayan tenor features Theo Wanne's signature triple strap hook. Ideal for stage performers, this triple hook lets you choose from multiple playing angles so you can find the optimal playing position. This hook is also excellent for musicians who swap instruments while on stage. If you're playing the Narayan and need to swap a tenor, the triple hook enables you to keep your neck strap the same length. To really make a statement, the Narayan saxophone is finished with a beautiful Vintified body with gold lacquer keys.
One of the best tenor saxophones on the market deserves the best pads. And that is why the Narayan saxophone boasts kangaroo skin pads from Music Medic. Kangaroo leather is one of the strongest lightweight leathers around. This is thanks to the highly uniform fibres and elastins throughout the skin, which results in amazing abrasion and tear resistance. This leather is then combined with the finest felt from Europe to achieve a firm feel that remains stable in damp and dry climates. They also make an excellent seal around the toneholes which results in amazing note production, especially in the low end. And to guarantee the best possible quality, all of these pads are hand-assembled and checked in the USA.
