Yamaha has announced its success with the YEV Electric Violin, as it recently won the award for best bowed product at the MIA awards. Judges complimented the violin's contemporary style, framework and high quality pickup, describing it as elegant and fantastic.
Unique Design
The YEV-104 has a unique design that has real presence on stage. A Möbius strip like design provides continuity between front and back The instrument's striking three dimensional form is sure to turn heads and enhances the natural beauty of the woods and materials used.
Easy Transition From Acoustic Violin
The YEV-104 is the same shape as a traditional violin so it can accept all your standard shoulder rests and tailpieces. It should be an easy transition for any player to make and the form contributes well to overall an overall natural musical resonance.
Select Tonewoods
Carefully selected Maple with Mahogany and Spruce are joined in a 5 layer construction which results in excellent response and a natural sound. A 5 layer oil-finished Walnut frame offers an ideal blend of flexibility and strength for life on the road.
Pickup
the same highly regarded high-output pickup from the SV250 is used on this YEV-104. While effectively picking up the sound of the entire instrument, it also captures the instrument's response and expressive bowing nuances employed by the player. A selector switch alternates between direct output of the pickup signal or output via the instrument's volume control. Direct output delivers the instrument's full sonic potential with rich lows and punchy impact.
