The 16" Chau Gong is handmade. The centre spot and rim of the Chau gong maintains its natural coating, and the rest of the gong is lathed and polished which offers the perfect balance of durability and timbre, with a deep tone and a long delay.

The Chau gong has established itself as a very important piece of percussion in a modern symphony orchestra due to its extreme versatility. The nature of a Chau gong is to offer an explosive crescendo with a long delay and sustain and this gong is no exception, and with a slightly varied playing technique you can also achieve short, quickly dampened notes, and generate all sorts of different and experimental sounds.

Included is the Adjustable Gong Stand which is of a sturdy steel construction that is designed to be able to take the weight of the heaviest gongs available while also being easy to move, adjust and dismantle, due to its lockable wheels, lightweight frame and wing nuts.
