Key Features
The DDrum Modern Tone 14'' x 7'' Patina Snare Drum, Bare Knuckle Brawler is a 1mm thick brass shell with an attractive, weathered plated finish that's unique on every drum. The brass offers a warm, metallic tone with additional body and fatness at low to mid frequencies thanks to its depth. Alongside this, a beautiful high-end crack that never fails to punch its way through any level of sound is possible. The snare is finished with 2.3mm triple-flanged hoops, 10 tube lugs, and a Dunnet R4 throw off in a classy nickel finish with an Evans batter drum head - great tone out the box.

The DDrum Modern Tone Patina Snare features a 1mm brass shell. Brass shells offer the crispness generally associated with metal snare drums but also a warm tone, with clear and defined rim shots that are capable of cutting through louder music. The brass is finished with a weathered Patina look that's unique to the individual drum, with the addition of the nickel-plated lugs that give this snare a very attractive design.
DDrum's story began in Sweden - 1983. It was then, that Hans Nordelius (founder of NORD Keyboards) created the Digital Percussion Plate 1 – the first drum pad allowing for dynamic playing using sampled sounds. Crowned an instant success by the marketplace, DDrum’s innovative drum pads, heads and hoops quickly garnered a large and loyal following.
2005 saw the beginnings of what would become DDrum as we know it today when it was sold to Armadillo Enterprises. One of their first decisions was to greatly expand their product line to include acoustic kits, snares, deccabons, hardware and accessories, making them a full line drum company. Long considered an innovator in electronic drums, they built on that history by being the first to use 100 Ash shells for their acoustic kits. They led the way with deeper bass drums at a time when they were traditionally only available through custom drum makers. Their blended shells (maple inner and ash outer ply) were an industry first as was their use of Alder - a wood known for warm tone and punchy attack.
