Versatile Performance

The Tama Superstar Hyper-Drive shells are manufactured from carefully hand selected maple with focus on shell moulding and bearing edge shape. The 6-ply, 5mm shells (8-ply, 7mm bass drum) produce full, powerful character and rich resonance with striking visual flare from its blue satin finish and stylish badge design. The Superstar Hyper-Drive also features Power Craft II drum heads, offering a uniformed tone across the entire kit, ensuring a stunning sound no matter what style is played on them. The bass drum heads integrate ring mufflers, removing the need to add extra internal muffling. The Superstar Hyper-Drive features Tama's classic Star-Cast mounting system, providing maximum resonance and stability for your toms in a streamlined design that allows for easier positioning on your tom.

Die-Cast Hoops

Zinc Die-Cast Hoops manufactured by injecting molten metal into moulds have more density and are more consist in shape than traditional triple-flanged hoops, offering crisper attack, clear and resonant highs and increased power on rim shots. Die-Cast hoops make tuning more consistent and easier to achieve due to the tension bolts always contacting the hoop properly. The hoops are accompanied by claw hooks which stabilise the wooden bass drum hoops, keeping them in tune and in place no matter how hard you play. The claws feature built-in rubber linings which help to protect the wood and maintain tuning. The rubber spacers also help to protect the claw hooks and tension bolt from damage when the bass drum is placed on the ground.

Sound Bridge High-Tension Lugs

The Sound Bridge High-Tension Lugs are specially designed for the Superstar Hyper-Drive kit, designed to look like traditional high-tension lugs, however the body of the lug floats over the shell, minimising shell contact. This allows the drum to resonate to its full potential, whilst providing all the benefits of a high-tension lug. The lugs offset the tension of the batter side and resonant side heads, reduces the stress on the shell and provides greater protection to the drum shell during transport.
