The Double-down crash/ride features extensive hand-hammering to ensure it is shaped to resonate and sustain with a quick decay. A lathed bottom and unlathed top design create a unique blend of control and sustain - ideal for all aspiring metal drummers. Additionally, the cymbal is constructed from a B20 bronze alloy, which produces natural, earthy tones, and features a lightly sandblasted top, which means unwanted overtones are significantly reduced - perfect for studio recording.
Matt Helpern is the avid drummer of the band ''Periphery'' and has been with the band since 2009 and is one of the well-known drummers in the progressive metal/djent drumming industry. When it came to designing the 21'' double down crash/ride, Helpern wanted a cymbal that was loud enough to meet the high demands of Periphery's sound, but with a short decay that doesn't overpower the vocals or other instruments. Used by Matt in various studios and live stages, he says this cymbal has turned out to be everything he hoped for in every one of those settings.
